The SBS Bus service number 35 is available from the terminal and will connect you to the nearest bus interchange at Bedok which will in turn connect you to many different parts of Singapore. It will also connect you to the MRT train stations at Bedok and Tanah Merah which will also connect you to different parts of Singapore including the airport (from Tanah Merah MRT Station)
