Prior to the official opening
of the SCC , marketing efforts were undertaken jointly by
the PSA
and the Singapore
Tourism Board. Today the Asia Pacific has become
a cruise playground for international cruise ships, as traditional
cruise areas in other parts of the world are fast becoming
saturated and repeat passengers are looking for fresh, new
and idyllic alternative cruise destinations.
The SCC is only a 15-minute drive
to Orchard
Road, the heart of the city's tourist belt, and
25 minutes to the Singapore
Changi Airport. Since Feb 2003, the North-East
Line of the Mass
Rapid Transit system has been operating from
the HarbourFront Centre. This underground subway stops at
scenic tourist attractions such as Chinatown
and Little
India.
